Santhigiri Institute of Management Alumni Association (SIMAA)

Santhigiri Institute of Management recognises its alumni as valuable ambassadors of the institution and an integral part of its academic and professional network. Since its establishment, the institute has encouraged meaningful and lasting relationships with its graduates who contribute to the growth, reputation, and development of the institution in various ways.

To strengthen these connections and ensure structured engagement with former students, Santhigiri Institute of Management has established the Alumni Association. The office serves as the central unit responsible for maintaining active communication with alumni, coordinating alumni initiatives, and facilitating collaboration between alumni, students, and the institute.

The Alumni Association works to create opportunities for alumni to remain connected with their alma mater and contribute to the academic and professional advancement of the institution.

Objectives

The SIMAA aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Maintain a comprehensive and updated database of alumni and create a structured network to strengthen communication and coordination among alumni members and alumni chapters.
  • Encourage alumni to maintain a strong emotional and professional connection with their alma mater and promote a lifelong sense of belonging and pride in the institute.
  • Provide a platform for alumni to interact with fellow graduates, faculty members, and students through reunions, networking events, and academic engagements.
  • Utilize the experience, knowledge, and professional expertise of alumni to support the growth and development of the institute.
  • Encourage alumni participation in institutional activities such as internships, placements, mentoring, guest lectures, industry interactions, and corporate collaborations.
  • Facilitate continuous communication with alumni through newsletters, digital platforms, and institutional updates to keep them informed about developments at the institute.
  • Encourage alumni to contribute to the academic, infrastructural, and social development of the institute through voluntary support, mentorship, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Promote alumni involvement in initiatives that contribute to the progress of the institute and the broader community.

Functions

The SIMAA acts as the primary coordinating body for alumni engagement activities at Santhigiri Institute of Management. Its key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting awareness among graduating students about the importance of alumni networks and encouraging them to become active members of the Alumni Association.
  • Organizing seminars, workshops, and awareness programs highlighting the role of alumni in professional networking, career development, and institutional growth.
  • Providing administrative and advisory support to the Alumni Association in planning activities, developing guidelines, and implementing initiatives.
  • Facilitating interactions between alumni and current students through mentoring sessions, career guidance programs, industry talks, and networking opportunities.
  • Keeping alumni informed about the institute’s achievements, new academic programs, collaborations, and institutional developments.
  • Collecting feedback and suggestions from alumni regarding curriculum development, industry requirements, employability skills, and emerging career opportunities.
  • Recognising and celebrating the achievements of distinguished alumni and encouraging their participation in institutional events.
  • Identifying areas where alumni can contribute to institutional development, including academic support, industry partnerships, research collaborations, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
  • Maintaining records of distinguished alumni and inviting them to share their experiences and insights with students, faculty members, and institutional bodies.
  • Encouraging alumni to participate in academic activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and panel discussions.
  • Monitoring alumni engagement initiatives to ensure that they remain meaningful and beneficial for the institute and its stakeholders.
  • Conducting periodic meetings with representatives of the Alumni Association to review activities, discuss plans, and ensure effective collaboration.
